You can book a theory test on the phone by calling 0300 200 1122 but if you prefer, it might be easier to do it online on the DirectGov website, (only use this site, as other websites may charge you a booking fee) this site also has information on how to find your nearest test centre. You should be able to get a test within a couple of weeks or so. If you can't make the date you can change it up to three days before, either online or over the phone. If you're late or fail to turn up you'll lose your fee. Don't forget your provisional licence either!

There are three ways to book your Driving Test.
1. By telephone. Call the DVSA on 0300 200 11 22
You will need your Provisional Driving Licence no. your Theory Test Certificate no. a valid Credit/Debit Card and your driving instructors' ADI badge no.
2. Via the Internet. Go to www.gov.uk/book-practical-driving-test and follow the online instructions. (Only use this website as other sites may charge you a booking fee).
3. Click the link to the right (in the sidebar) which will take you directly to the Test booking site.
Again, you will need your Provisional Driving Licence no. your Theory Test Certificate no. and a valid Credit/Debit Card.
The current Test Fees for a car is:

When you have booked your Practical Driving Test, you will receive either a letter or an email confirming your test date, time and Test Centre, along with a booking reference no. Keep this safe, you should take it with you when taking your test, and, you may need it if you wish to either change or cancel your test.
As soon as you have booked your Driving Test, notify your instructor of the date and time so that they can put it in their diary ASAP.
